Type:
The first type is reverse tension membrane structure; reverse
bending shape, or double bending saddle shape with tension and
stability. The tension and stability come from the mechanical
prestress of the membrane plane and its linear boundary.
The second type is the same direction bending tension membrane
structure; the same direction bending shape, or the double bending
spherical shape with tension and stability. Tension and stability
are produced by air or water pressure acting perpendicularly to the
membrane surface. This type of structure includes air-bearing
structures and inflatable structures.
